This is a home-made moth trap. Most if not all traps consist of a light, usually emitting UV radiation as well as visible light, and some sort of container where the moths can shelter. This example uses an 80W MV light bulb. Moths shelter in the egg boxes within the trap. This model is not very effective as the funnel is standing proud of the top surface of the trap, which will act as a baffle for the moths. Even so, some quite large catches can be achieved.
